Kind of a backhanded compliment when you think about it

I dug deeper.

Engram made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and has “been around” Justin Jefferson, who was a rookie in 2020, and is considered by many as the best receiver in the game right now.

Engram has “been around” the following rookie wide receivers at the NFL combine: DeDe Westbrook, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Curtis ‘Deebo’ Samuel, Zay Jones broke the NCAA receptions record , and future triple crown WR Cooper Kupp.

I’m sure Engram has been around plenty more rookie receivers throughout his life, other than just his teammates. 

When Engram says Thomas is the most polished rookie WR he’s ever been around, that is a big time compliment.
