Or conditioning the public to the presence of drones. Drone use and robotic warfare are rapidly becoming the new norms of war fighting. 

Currently the U.S. and its allies fly fifth generation fighters, such as the F-35, which feature augmented reality and highly functional data networking. 

Sixth generation aircraft will have manned options, meaning they can be flown with or without a pilot. Aircraft without pilots are ideal because human life support and safety systems add weight, expense and complexity to the airframe. Quantities which can be better utilized towards platform function.

Within the next two decades, I predict almost all manned offensive weapons will be remotely controlled with a high degree of autonomy, along with heavy robotic augmentation of manned forces on sea and land. What we are seeing in Ukraine is the birth of the new battlefield.
