The problem is he speaks about things he knows nothing about. It's one thing to learn about a subject because you've read about it and quite another thing to know about it because you've lived it. Perspective through life experience goes a long way in having an accurate view of things. 

Mike's problem is he learns a lot of things he talks about but has not experienced much of it to actually know what he's actually talking about. 

Learning and knowing are not the same thing.
