But the point stands: they were both chosen to get votes.  That's the point I believe Lucky2Last was making.  They were both chosen for one reason only- to get votes.  We can call it DEI, or broadening the ticket, or anything else.  But the reason they were both chosen was the same.   There were some differences in the way it was done, but fundamentally, it was the same thing.

But as HB said, it is easier to swallow when it's done over a religion or an ideology that one can easily opt into or out of.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
