Most Disappointing Player of the year Award Nominations:
Trevor Lawrence: Outside of the injury he did not play to par this season. Outside of Russel Wilson Robbing Denver I have not seen a 6 figure QB play the low level that Lawrence does at times. For every Amazing throw he will back it up with 2 or 3 headscratchers. Yes some blame can be placed on the talent around him but just looking at plays that were his fault is just mind boggling. He isn't terrible just middle of the road at best. He has the tools but who know if that will ever come to fruition. The concussions in my mind are a huge red flag regardless of reason is something to be concerned about. His play before the injury were miles worse than say the 8-3 run we started 2022 with.
Josh Allen: His play overall was just kinda mediocre to say the least. We have to face the fact that Josh Allen/Travon Walker are not a good enough duo to consistently rush the QB. Allen did not play no where near his contract this year. Opposing QB's had too much time in the pocket in too many games this year while he was eating dirty or getting mauled.
The Offensive Line as a whole: This really is a Jekyll/Hyde situation here. The line is actually good in pass blocking most of the year. They just don't move people and open up running lanes.
Cisco: I was drunk on the Cisco last year. He has flat out sucked this year. He has been beatin like a red headed step child in the passing game and not that great coming up to help in run support. He had a chance to get a big contract and blew it
Armstead; This guy is an overpaid bum. I watch him get stood up constantly rushing the passer and getting whipped defending the run. He is not that player from San Francisco. Here is hoping that maybe the injury he went through is affecting his game and next year he returns healthy and productive. Not good at all this year.
ETN: What happened to that guy who was breaking off long runs, breaking ankles, and breaking tackles? He is dancing too much in the backfield. I highly doubt that he comes back
Tyson Campbell: The guy is a good corner when healthy but again missed some time to injury again. He is far and away our best corner but it's like saying he is the tallest midget. Decent player but the contract does not match the production.
Kirk: He is one of our highest paid guys and didn't do much of anything before his injury. He had a 3 game stretch where he got close to breaking 100 yards but again the contract and the production do not match. He was our weapon and now just forgotton
There are many other choices so you choose yours:
My pick is Lawrence. I do not believe Lawrence was the worst player on the team but the expectations vs the hit on the cap vs the production just looks horrible in my mind. Unpopular opinion but I do believe in this day and age that it starts with the QB. I do believe if we had elite or even really good QB play that this would be a playoff team vs the soft schedule. Just my opinion.
Definitely TLaw. The only evidence you need to see is how the offense exploded and became a juggernaut once MJones became the starter and got all the QB1 reps. Trevor was definitely holding this team back.
