It happens to better QB. His season just feels like the Patriots Mac Jones one. Chargers look changed right now, but it is hard to say if it will stick. They mostly beat bad teams this year, had one of the best TO differentials, and could lose their DC this off season. KC is at their peak right now. Kelce might retire after the playoffs. Chris Jones is at the end of his prime, and may fall off next year. They still don't have an answer at OT. Rams/Cards/Hawks all are kind of at crossroads where they are in the middle of retooling but mostly hanging on to players last few years (Stafford/Kupp), trying to fix broken units (Cards def/Hawks OL), or have exp players who don't really fit anymore (Metcalf/Walker). Any or all of those teams could fall apart much like the Jags just did between 23 and 24. Panthers played inspired to end the year, but it is hard to maintain dominate OL play which was the key to their offense to end 24. Plus they still lack major pass catchers or defense. 49ers will have cap issues, and have to decide to extend Purdy or not. If not he may be disgruntled. Also Deebo/McCaffrey look old/done. Aiyuk will out til the end of 25, and Kittle is on borrowed time. True, there are not a lot of "gimme" wins in schedule. But if the Jags are any good, every game on that schedule is winnable. I would rather have a battle tested 10-7/11-6 team than a 13-4/12-5 team that got fat on tomato cans. |
