Interviewing all the HC candidates considered viable by your search committee doesn't mean you're suddenly going to alter course and tell your HC who to hire on his staff. 

Khan has clearly expressed that the next HC is going to rule the roost in Duval. Why would he then tell that guy who to hire? 

What I'm saying is it can only be beneficial to have your owners, executives, and search committee advisors be familiar with the guys the HC might bring in to work under him. 

Question: Do you actually think the reason they included Saleh in their search was because they want to tell their eventual HC to hire him?? Really?? 

Do you have any recollection on the national opinion of Saleh before Rodgers had him fired? 
I do.
He was a media darling credited with building a stout defense in NY that was getting all kinds of preseason love as a shoe-in playoff contender.  

In 2023 the Jets pass defense was top ten in:
Comp. % allowed
yard per attempt allowed
INTs forced

After the past two years of watching our secondary - I'm ALL ABOUT picking that guys brain in an interview if I get the chance. Even if I have zero interest in hiring him to coach my team.

I disagree, there is zero point to due diligence if you're bringing in the guy to gauge his interest as DC as potentially the DC under the eventual HC. Absolute waste of time, zero need for it. Personally, I think the interest is real for Saleh at HC. I said it numerous times before, can look at previous posts, I think there is a giant mutual respect between Khan and Saleh and it absolutely would not surprise me if he is the hire. 

I also look at his time in NY. Yes the defense was good, but he had zero plan for the offense. Nathanial Hackett? Really, Saleh? Disgusting. His downfall was failure to bring in a good OC, maybe he has bad connections. Have they improved? Imagine he re-unites down here in Jax with Hackett as OC. That is my issue with Saleh, and he would HAVE to come with a good offensive coordinator or it's going to be a disaster again. He is much better as a D coordinator, and that's it imo. Don't want him coming down here, bringing a bunch of that dysfunctional Jets staff down here. No thanks!
