There's not a ton of QB's I like from this year's draft class in April. And with guys returning back to school like Ewher potentially and with Beck already confirmed that he's going to Miami that now bumps up QB's higher that I do like. Jaxson Dart in particular. He was a guy I would have targeted in RD3 late or RD4 early. I see him as an early to mid day 2 pick now. I liked Riley Leonard at Duke last year but he didn't really step his game up for Notre Dame as a passer this year so I don't think he's worth the time. He has a limited ceiling at the next level. Doesn't seem to have "it" in between the ears.

That leaves me with Will Howard out of Ohio St. and Rourke out of Indiana. Howard will probably be a day 2, early day 3 guy now because of his championship play recently. Rourke I think is sneaky. I like him as a 5th RD investment. Very accurate passer, very careful with the football, doesn't turn it over a lot. Something he did well throughout his 5 year college career. Has a good pocket presence in my opinion.

I really like Howard.  I think he has a real cockiness about him when he’s out on the field.  I think that’s also something that you can’t teach and in my opinion a very important trait in a good QB.

I thought Ewers was and is overrated and will never be anything more than a backup.  I thought he had already declared?

And I have no problem bringing Jones back as a backup.  I don’t think anyone is going to throw big money at him since he didn’t do anything outstanding for us in a pretty extensive ‘audition’.  So I think it’s a possibility.

Same with Howard. Watching him get fired up on the sideline against Texas was good to see. Dart has similar qualities. Plays a little too much at times with a reckless abandon as a runner but he's scrappy and can make plays in the passing game.

If Ewers declared I may have missed it. I was under the impression that some college team was going to offer him a $6M NIL deal to transfer over for his last year of eligibility. Which would be a lot more than what he would probably get as a day 2 or day 3 draft pick.

Jones is the most logical choice for me. You invested a 6th RD pick in him. He's from here. While he didn't set the world on fire last year, he wasn't that awful neither. There's some qualities to his game that I like and for a back-up, he's serviceable.

How about Kyle Trask?  Didn't he back up Brady in TB?

He did. He was a 2nd RD investment. Would be pretty surprising if they let him go. If Coen gets the job here though it would make sense to bring him on up. At the minimum, you get a guy that can quickly help Lawrence understand the signals and jargon within Coen's playbook.
