I'm a Rams fan. Because we have two top 13 picks, I'm visiting other NFL team's message boards to get fans' perspectives on who their team might draft. This time of year is slow and the wait for the draft seems to take forever (and as a Rams fan, the draft has been all we've had to look forward to for 10 years running now).

 

Anyways, I wanted to let you all know that I think its very unlikely the Rams draft a WR this year. Anything is possible, and I'm no closer to Les Snead or Jeff Fisher than any of you guys are, but WR really isn't as big a need as some would have you think. It usually takes several years for WRs to develop, and we've drafted 4 the past two years. It would be a much smarter decision to see what we have, rather than spend another premium pick on another. I'd be okay with us drafting Watkins, but I'd be much happier with Clowney, Matthews, or Robinson.

 

Clowney, while not a need, would give us arguably the best defensive line in football. He seems to be the consensus best player in the draft.

 

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I'd put the chances of Clowney falling past our pick to basically zero. We'll either draft him, or take a trade down that you wouldn't expect - this year's class is so deep (according to GMs and draft pundits), that just taking someone's 2nd round pick for example, would likely be enough compensation. Especially considering that, if we were to trade with Atlanta for example, we would still get a very good player at pick 6.
