Good Point.  Kind of like Bill Belichick with the Browns when he was building a great team and then the Browns announced their departure and the season pretty much tanked.  He was the one who hired Ozzie Newsome and slated Ray Lewis high on his draft board ...... they fired Bill and the rest is history.

Not quite the same scenario but some coaches deserve a 2nd chance given the impossible positions they are faced with in their 1st HC jobs.  I mean, what if Salah could hire his own OC and the Jets would have lost to the Rams and landed Trevor at QB..... perhaps things could have been different.
