Regardless of the validity of Grassley's arguments, I can't overlook the fact that he's two years into his 8th term at 91. I'm naturally skeptical of anyone who loves the power and prestige too much to leave.

The system demands it. Committee positions are done by seniority. Iowans are being rational.
