Having a good backup is fine, but not at all important to a good team, and really shows how [BLEEP] the team has been that is even something being discussed. A good team keeps its QB healthy and the backup is just some dude getting paid to sit in meetings.

Yeah but if you got dook at backup you fail  to see that your defense is actually crap when the backup is getting shut down in practice. The chefs are rolling with Carson Wentz at backup...why don't they just have Deshone Kizer playing on a vet minimum deal if it's so unimportant?

When Kyle Trask is your backup, you get nervous every time Baker takes on a defender on a scramble.

Backup QB is more important than you think, they are a second set of eyes on every play, and they should be working with the starter to help them to grow, to see exploitable gaps in the D, and to keep them from getting complacent.

Having a decent backup and improving the team aren't mutually exclusive.

There will be talent drop off from starter to backup. The goal is not to make it the grand canyon.
