Thank you for admitting you were wrong about some of the history.
But I'm not trying to predict the future.  All I'm saying is Trump is deadly serious about trying to control Gaza.  Whether he follows through or not, I can't predict.  He won't attempt it unless he was confident that there would be somewhere to move at least half of the current population of the Gaza strip away to.  Trump understands that reducing local overpopulation is a first step in reducing poverty.

I don't really know where you fall on that.  I think we both agree that our even suggesting it up-ends the norms and the expectations of all the countries in the Middle East.  But that might be a good thing.  Time will tell.

I think Trump is goading other ME nations to step forward to take control and rebuild Gaza to keep those pesky Palestinians contained. They don't want them, but the Islamists uses Gazans and Gaza as a front operation for terrorism, which in turn unsettles the entire region. Now is the perfect opportunity to rebuild Gaza into a relatively peaceful and prosperous area which suits their desire. It's going to require a lot of oversight and expense, but they have no other real choice at this point.
