Ethical therapists only discuss politics with their patients if the patient brings up politics. 
There is no way that 90% of a therapist's patients are bringing a politics, so this therapist is either lying, or unethically bringing politics into the conversation himself.

I have no doubt that there are more liberals in therapy than conservatives, but the ratio isn't 9 to 1. And the cause has nothing to do with liberal politics per se, it is just that people from conservative or traditional backgrounds are more likely to associate therapy with shame.

I see blame the therapist....nice deflection. Then close with a statement that you cannot prove.
