Cleveland matches Jags offer for Mack
|
Quote:I was looking for any news on Mack and I came across the Ross Tucker Football Podcast, which had a pretty interesting idea for an offer sheet. Tucker mentioned offering Mack a one year deal that would be structured so that he couldn't be franchised next season. If the Browns match, we could go after him next season with Mack already having a very favorable opinion of us or Cleveland declines to match and can sign him long term at a later date. I don't think that would be considered a poison pill provision since Cleveland can match the offer too and it's definitely an interesting idea. That is interesting, but theres probably also a line of ethics Caldwell might not want to cross as for being detrimental to where the other 31 GM's lose respect for his business practices. (which could hurt in future potential trade dealings) Or, maybe thats overrated and he just needs to go get it done in whatever way possible. |
