I think Toby Gerhart is going to shock some people

Quote:Let me give you perspective as a Viking fan who also watched Stanford when Toby was there.Touche' gaj, touche'. Very informative post. Nobody really knows what he can or is going to do until the year starts. But, some seem to overlook the fact that he played his "ENTIRE CONTRACT" under AP. What did you expect the Vikings brass to do......Oh, I'm sorry Adrian but we have to start giving Toby the lionshare of the touches. You don't tell that to a guy who runs like a beast. That said, Toby is no withering flower either when it comes to running the football. Do you think all these defenders in college simply rolled over when they saw Toby coming at them? He was thee beast in college and should have won the Heisman. Ironically he won the Doak Walker as being the best RB in the country and Ingraham (also a RB) won the Heisman. I'm saying all that to say this.........let's just hold onto our critical assessment of TG on what he will or won't do until at least mid season. IMO........(if he stays healthy) and they get solid play out of the OL (and a decent passing game)...Toby Gerhart will make believers out of all of you. I followed this guy's career all the way back to high school as a sophomore because I lived in that area. As a "sophomore" he dominated other teams. He was, and is a great RB given the chance to play and be the feature. His talents are obvious, but it's his mental approach to the game and his skill set that amazes me. He absolutely has a very strong will to be the best and I for one have NO DOUBT he will be (if he stays healthy). Good post gaj. |
