The $18mil he is guaranteed is the total he would be paid for the first 2 seasons. Cleveland has already committed to giving him $10+mil this season, so they would be getting him for at least a second season at $8mil. That is a reasonable rate, and much cheaper than if they woud have elected to tag him again next year. None of this would deter Cleveland from matching. |
