Once again, you're grading Carr based on his brother's name. Let's take a look at a small number of brother NFL QBs, shall we?

 

Peyton Manning - All-time great, Eli Manning - Decidedly less-so, but still solid throughout his career

Matt Hasselbeck - Solid QB for a long time, Tim Hasselbeck - Married that chick from Survivor and that's about it

Josh McCown - Serviceable for much of his career, Luke McCown - Benched in favor of Gabbert

Carson Palmer - Very good QB for the majority of his career, Jordan Palmer - Can't hold a roster spot as anything more than a deep reserve

Aaron Rodgers - Might one day be remembered as better than Favre, Jordan Rodgers - Might one day be remembered as better than Jordan Palmer

 

I think my point is made. One brother being crap does not guarantee that the other will be any more so than one being great guarantees that the other will be. Now get over yourself on the "David Carr's brother" garbage being the root of your dislike for Derek Carr, please. It's a basis for grading that's no more rooted in reality than the perception than Andy Dalton couldn't play QB because he's got red hair.
