First off, the coach and GM that drafted David Carr are long gone. In fact, I suspect there aren't many in that organization who remember the David Carr mess at all. To suggest that a brand-new coach and GM combo will be scared off from a draft prospect because his brother bombed out ten years ago isn't ridiculous. It's stupid. Straight-up dumb. If Dom Capers was still the coach or Charley Casserly the GM, you'd probably be right, and maybe Derek Carr isn't on their draft board at all. Suggesting that he's not there because he's David Carr's brother? Really? Are you that desperate now that your golden boy Garoppolo has been exposed as a guy who is also flustered in the pocket under pressure?

 

The great thing about your statement is that there's a very, very, very high chance that the Texans don't draft Carr, and when they don't, you'll be parading your brilliance all over the board because they passed on him at one and didn't trade up to 25 to keep him out of Cleveland.
