I understand Bradley's quote, but if Bradley is right, and he can create a truly similar environment to the Seahawks, then it seems what he is saying that a rookie QB can and perhaps even will gain the starting job over the older more experienced QB in the preseason. Ie, that's exactly what happened in Seattle where he came from.


I just think he was saying that a Teddy, Manziel, Mettenberger, etc, wouldn't HAVE to start until they're ready(unlike say Luck or RG3 HAD to their rookie seasons). If they are ready they'll be starter, if they need a few games they'll sit. Am I reading that right or am I wrong? What do you think?

I agree. The whole point is to have the rookie QB come in with absolutely no expectations to start. His job is to learn and get better. Now if the competitive environment pushes the rookie to learn and develop faster and at the end of camp he's head and shoulders better than the incumbent, as Wilson was to Flynn, then I would expect him to get the starting nod. It needs to be understood however that the likelihood of this happening is pretty low.
