And if he doesn't, you risk wasting a roster spot on a guy who isn't part of the long-term plan. 

 

Best case scenario is you get a guy who's 80% of what he was prior to the injury less than a year removed from ACL surgery.  This is a guy who has had 1 1,000+ yard season in his 7 year career.  The last full season he played was 2012.  He racked up 748 yards.  If we're getting 80% of that, we're looking at another 500-600 yard receiver as a best case scenario.  I think we've got that guy on the roster already.  If the concern is around Blackmon, we can address that in the draft. 

 

Like I said, I can live with a minimum wage deal, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have any interest in signing it.  Anything beyond that isn't worth the risk because the reward isn't nearly what you seem to think it would be.
