By contrast, Jordan had to play against Barkley, Ewing, Magic, David Robinson (and Tim Duncan for a bit), Karl Malone/John Stockton (MAN were those some good games), ect.  Yeah, he had Pippen and Rodman with him, but the guy would just take over games like no other.  I don't see that quality in LeBron, but maybe that's just me.

 

He's less of a ball hog than Kobe at this point in his career (I doubt he'll ever even have the CHANCE to put up 80 in a game like Bryant did), but I think in their primes, Kobe might be a better player, too.  Let's see how he does entering the back half of his career.


Don't forget about those Piston teams and a Portland team with Clyde Drexler, Jerome Kersey and Terry Porter. Seattle with Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. The NBA was loaded in the 80s and 90s. Today? Not so much as you wisely pointed out. There's a lot of good players today but not a lot of great players.
