Bridgewater's struggles continue?!?

Quote:Roethlisberger came from a comparable level of competition. But Big Ben and McNair had what few QBs have... ideal size. That's something Ted doesn't have, and it's why Bortles has risen (just as Manuel did vs Geno last year.) http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/columni...ollege.ece <p style="margin-left:40px;">But understand that the NFL draft is not about college production. It’s about a player’s measurables. It always has been and always will be. The NFL covets players who best fit the position prototypes, because having the ideal height, weight, strength and speed give them the best chance for success at the next level. Right or wrong, coaches and GMs have a hubris that lends them to gravitate towards the most ideal sized prospects (not necessarily the most productive) because they believe they "make" the players. In that light, it's very easy to understand why Ted were to slide (if he does... Again, this is simply assuming he does for the sake of conversation.) As far as taking a QB 3rd overall that needs seasoning as McNair did, Houston did give him the opportunity to sit and develop before handing him the keys. I doubt any QB we take, should we take one at 3, would be given that amount of patience by the fanbase even though they should.
