I was referring to the media and fans, not to NFL types. It seems like every year, right before the draft, there are "late-risers". No one's rising or falling on draft boards. It's just the Mel Kipers of the world hearing about them for the first time.

 

I remember Mercilus. I liked the guy as a trade-down option, and I'm not surprised to hear about the reluctance to bench him.

 

Of course, given Clowney's size, he could probably be the J.J. Watt of the strong side for Houston. Regardless, if the Texans really like Clowney, they can find a spot for him.

I have to disagree, I do like Teddy a little more than Geno as a prospect but both are far from a sure thing and both are "shaky pro prospects".  Bill O'Brien is quarterback whisperer so trust me if he is as sure as thing and as good as prospect as you think he is Teddy will go 1st overall, I dont even see why the Texans would be looking at Bortles but the Texans will draft him before they draft Teddy, O'Brien knows
