Analysis of Cecil Shorts via Football Outsiders
|
When Blackmon was across from him, a true number 1 receiver..it was much easier for Cecil to do well, hence is he a true number 2 receiver. We know he is not a #1, but he hasn't really had much time with a #1 across from him so he's been drawing the best coverage. He is a mini Victor Cruz to a tee..exact same player. No he is not good with Yards after contact, but he is definitely great at Yards after Catch. He gets injured cause he's not scared and he's a gamer. Getting a concussion to make a catch? Thats the type of #2 you need on your team to win.
