Seems like a fair analysis. I think he can be an adequate #2, but it's clear he's not a #1. When he's getting the defense's true attention he can get shut down. Like most good players he can exploit a team that's undisciplined, but he's definitely not a #1.
If the Jaguars weren't seeing what they could get in trade for him last offseason and early in the season from WR hungry teams like the Patriots I'd be surprised. He just doesn't have the body of a true #1 and he's not great as a possession guy. He's a good WR, but he looks better here than he is because we've been so horrible at the position for so long. |
