While "cheaper" is a benefit, I guess, I don't see money being the main motivator here - its about getting the most production from the 2 Tackle positions. Joeckel > Monroe @ OLT, so he goes there, and Monroe would be even less effective at ORT than he was at OLT, so bon voyage. Granted, I still think it could have been handled better to get more of a return, but I don't see this as money dump. There was a legit football reasoning behind the move.
If all this is true, what does it say about the talent evaluation of Caldwell, who went on about the interchangeability of the two tackle positions these days after taking Joeckel?
