Not Cool With Tanking The Season!

Quote:There are no guarantees in the NFL when it comes to the QB position. But, if your team is desperate for QB talent, you find the best available option and roll the dice. Bridgewater will be one of, if not the best option in the May draft. The only reason you'd pass on Bridgewater is if you don't feel he has the best chance to succeed of the Quarterbacks. You take the best option at QB when you need one (where the value is right) for three reasons: #1. The best option has the best chance of success. When you're rolling the dice on a QB (and you always are when you draft them) you want to have to roll even or odd, rather than a 3 . QB is too important of a position to take a long shot when you don't have one. It's when you have one that you take longer shots where they can do minimal impact. #2. If they are the best QB in the draft, the best way to limit the number of TD's they throw against you is to pick them. Passing on a good quarterback is just as dangerous as picking a bad one. #3. QB is the most important position on the field. Even more so now days. You can have success without them. But that success will not likely be long term. Look at Houston. They have a staunch Defense. But if they get behind against a team, they're going to have trouble. Defenses start comebacks, Offenses stop them, Quarterbacks keep them going.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
