New York Times article on Jameis Winston

Quote:Yup.. It landed me in hot water with the law.. I'm guilty even though I'm innocent. Better juice up the electric chair, grab your pitchfork and light the torch since you and a few others are experienced in that field..

I don't have a problem with your stance, I have a problem with your "shoot first and ask question later" approach to things. Half of you guys completely fail to acknowledge the fact that the man is presumed innocent simply because it doesn't fit into your agenda of "guilty until proven innocent". What else is there to say that hasn't already been said? Please, tell us.. What grounds haven't we discussed here about this case that's considered, "groundbreaking" material? Nothing.. We've been through it all.. The man is presumed Innocent.. Get over it.. What you think and what the facts are, are two different things.. I'm not going to convict the man simply because Barney Fife worked the case the night of the incident. That's a TPD problem, not Winston's..

Whether he did it or not, he's presumed innocent, whether you like that or not..

And how many times are we going to hear, "well what if you had a daughter?".. Well guess what? What if you had a son and some woman tries to ruin his career with slanderous inaccuracies and lies? As many things in this case, it can go both ways. But since the incident involved a woman, she automatically gets a free pass because there's no such thing as a devious, vindictive woman.. Sorry, but I don't live in Make Believe Land..
As it stands with the law, he is innocent. No argument there. It has been well documented that the police fouled this up something awful. That leaves a mark on the whole thing. It does both Winston and the female a disservice here. No one has argued that. The only thing people have said is that it leaves the door wide open to what may have happened, or may not have happened due to the shoddy work of the TPD
