The analysts like Mack at 3, but I'm not so sure.  I'd much rather trade down than take any option other than Clowney at this point. I'd rather have Mack than Matthews for what it's worth. Though I'm starting to warm up to the idea that so many have of drafting Watkins (though I'm not sure a WR is worth it in this deep of a class)  I think this is a talented enough class, where trading down can still net you a highly talented player.  

 

If we don't or can't trade down, then that's unfortunate, but it's bound to happen.  You can't force a team to trade.  But I think a lot of people are selling themselves on who we're likely to pick, just as TMD sometimes sells himself against players we're likely to pick.  

 

That said, I don't think it'd be a Gene Smith move.  A Gene Smith move would be to trade up to #1, then take Mack over Clowney. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.  (And sometimes a Nut finds a good player)  He did pick Eugene Monroe.
