If Caldwell asked you to pick the first quarterback we draft...
|
With every pick, I would take the best available player at a position of need. Then, when I got to the third round, if I didn't have a quarterback yet, I would try to force one at that point, meaning if I would relax the rule (a little) of taking the best available player at a position of need.
You have to ask yourself, if you got to pick 39, and you don't have a QB yet, but Odell Beckham is still on the board, would you really pass over Odell Beckham for a second-round quarterback? I couldn't. How about if you got to the third round, and you hadn't picked a QB yet, but the best offensive guard in the draft is somehow still on the board, would you bypass that guy just to reach for a QB? I couldn't do that either. |
