New York Times article on Jameis Winston

Quote:Maybe look into it... derp. It seems they were fine with letting it go unnoticed.

It involved one of their players. They have a responsibility to investigate. That is why FSU is currently under investigation. Where it happened is irrelevant.

Id say considering it took them a year to do anything about this, the ruling by this investigation team will not be good.

"In the case examined by The Times involving Jameis Winston, no university official outside the Victim Advocate Program received a report from any complainant naming Winston prior to when the allegations were made public in November 2013."

What does that mean? It means the accuser never filed a complaint against Winston with FSU. In order for Title IX responsibilities to kick in, an official with a high enough position at the university to be considered a decision maker has to be made aware that there is an allegation of sexual harassment or assault that was made by a student against a student/teacher/employee. So when the officials in the athletic department were made aware that Winston had been named a suspect, if they were not informed that the alleged victim was a student, they would not have responsibilities under Title IX.

But again, I'm sure they did their best to sweep it under the rug.
