Revisiting the Alex Smith trade

#10

The hate for Alex Smith is hilarious.

Good enough if you want to be mediocre but not good enough to win the superbowl?

Well, step 1 in winning the superbowl is making the playoffs.  You know, something we haven't been even close to since 2007.

Also, it's not like he's been Andy Dalton in the playoffs.  He put up huge numbers in his loss to the Colts, where the defense allowed something like 40 2nd half points.

He didn't make every throw in the world, but nobody does.   Alex Smith was good enough to win in the playoffs.

I just find it funny when Jaguars fans look at Alex Smith or even Andy Dalton and pretend like they're crap and that we don't need them/want them.

When we find someone even close to how good they are, maybe we can talk.  Until then, we look very foolish.  What's wrong with being perennial playoff teams?  OK, they have their heart broken on one day in the playoffs.. but you know what?  They had MONTHS of hope and fun in the season that included 10+ wins.

Jaguars on the other hand?  By halftime in our season opener all hope was lost.  We knew we sucked, and frankly a lot of the season was unwatchable, embarrassing, and just not fun.

If the Chiefs don't think Smith can lead them to a superbowl... they should just draft another QB.  3rd round or whatever.  Keep looking, just like everyone else is.
