Ode to "Let's talk about"

So I had to have a piece of equipment repaired and I've been waiting about a week to get the quote. They gave me a call today to tell me every part in the thing was shot and they could rebuild it for $1400.
I told him that a brand new one fully assembled was $1100, to which he said "yep, well that's what this will be." Ummm... Ok. Then I asked if the motor section was under warranty because they rebuilt it for me last year, and the guy says "well that would be, but the motor is fine." Ok so which is it? Everything is shot or just the pump section? And if the motor is fine then why is this costing so damn much? These fools, pretty sure they prey on people because they're the only ones around that perform this service. |
