I think this team would have been better with Smith of course, but... Would I go back and try to make a trade for Smith? No, I wouldn't..

My thinking is that making a play for Smith would have of course decreased the need for another QB not named Henne or Gabbert. But (barring injury), I don't think this organisation would be so fixed on finding a long term answer with the QB spot as it is now, and Smith is not a long term answer. And I'd much rather have Manziel, Teddy, Bortles, Carr, Garoppolo (sp?) ect..

So I think the stars are aligning in this organisations favor for once.. Glad they never took the chance on Smith.. Could have just delayed the inevitable..
