I love him because of his loyalty to the city but he made some bad decisions during his tenure that did a disservice not only to this city but to this franchise as a whole. 

 

Regardless of the perception, the tarps were probably the smartest thing this franchise did during that period.  The stadium was too big for the market.  Right sizing the facility to bring it more in line with what the market could support was the right move.  

 

I didn't even have a problem with Weaver not bailing the fans out by snapping up the remaining tickets, allowing the blackouts.  The fans needed a kick in the shorts.  The blackouts we did have to endure were necessary to assure we didn't see them again.  The tactic worked.  We haven't had a blackout in years, although you'd be hard pressed to see that anywhere in the media.
