***OFFICIAL 2014 Jacksonville Jaguars Regular Season Schedule Discussion Thread!***

Quote:I am not advancing a conspiracy theory and defy you to show where I expressly or tacitly stated otherwise.

But conspiracy or not, schedules have impacts on the teams that play them.

What impact do you think having 4 out of the first 6 games on the road, followed by the above mentioned stretch, will have on late season attendance, if you assume average to moderate roster improvement?

It wouldn't be a stretch to suggest this team could start 0-2 this year, heading into the Indy game.  If the team's performances don't show substantial improvement in those first two games, are people going to be enthused about coming to the Indy game?

We always seem to perform poorly on the West Coast.  So is an 0-4 start out of the question?

No.

We start out slowly...then spend another 4-5 weeks in a row away from Jacksonville?

Now if we draft well and surprise some people early and get off to a start that could still keep us in contention after the London trip, it could be absolute bananas here down the stretch.

But that's not likely.

What's more likely is that the team drafts guys who have some struggles adjusting to the pro game initially, then the rookies start playing better later in the year.

If you are saying that the NFL should schedule games with an eye towards having an impact on attendance, and they don't provide such a schedule, I guess they did that on purpose, right? So it sure looks like you're advocating a conspiracy theory.

The NFL schedule in incredibly complex. And way, way down the list of problems the NFL is trying to solve within such complexity is the complaints of some Jaguars fans about having to start on the road.

The NFL will always be most concerned about it's TV partners. If the Jaguars can make themselves TV friendly they will become part of the considerations that are factored into the making of the schedule.

The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
