Friday Mock picks 1-42
|
1. Houston Texans- Edge player Jadeveon Clowney
South Carolina (Once in a generation prospect, you can get fired for passing a guy like this, he'll be a Texan and will terrorize QB's in the AFC South for the next 10-12 years) 2. St. Louis Rams- Edge player Khalil Mack Buffalo (Arguably the best player in the draft, Mack adds incredible athleticism, technique, and versatility to an already talented defense, I think the Rams will wait on their tackle) 3. Jacksonville Jaguars- WR Sammy Watkins Clemson (A mixture of Percy Harvin and Justin Blackmon, the Jaguars have never had a talent like Watkins, he can score from anywhere on the field, Jedd Fisch's creativity mixed with Jerry Sullivan’s coaching will pay dividends for Watkins) 4. Cleveland Browns- OT Greg Robinson Auburn (The Browns should take the BAP here, which is Robinson, one of the more athletic physical specimens coming out of college in the last 10 years, the Browns will plant Robinson opposite of Joe Thomas giving them bookend tackles for the next 8-10 years) 5. Oakland Raiders- WR Mike Evans Texas A&M (The Raiders signed James Jones in FA, but he's a number 2-3 at best, Mike Evans gives them a true a number one, he's a mixture of Brandon Marshall and Vincent Jackson) 6. Atlanta Falcons- OT Jake Matthews Texas A&M (Value + need= no brainer) 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- OT Taylor Lewan Michigan (see Jake Matthews) 8. Minnesota Vikings- DT Aaron Donald Pittsburgh (head coach Mike Zimmer gets a Minnesota version of "Geno Atkins" in Aaron Donald, a freak athlete that brings interior pressure, Donald is a guy that will make everyone around him better, similar to Atkins.) 9. Buffalo Bills- TE Eric Ebron NC (EJ Manuel needs weapons, with the two top receivers off the board Ebron makes a ton of sense here, he's a matchup nightmare for linebackers and safeties) 10. Detroit Lions- CB Darqueze Dennard Michigan State (The Lions finally add a legit talent to their annually bad secondary) 11. Tennessee Titans- QB Blake Bortles UCF (I don't think Whiz believes in Jake Locker, Bortles has rumored to be the top rated QB on most teams boards, the Whiz era in TN begins with a new QB) 12. New York Giants- WR Odell Beckham JR LSU (Victor Cruz like quickness with the long speed of Desean Jackson, Beckham Jr. adds explosiveness to an underwhelming receiving core) 13. St, Louis Rams- OT Zach Martin Norte Dame (Martin is a smart versatile offensive lineman, his versatility makes him a top 15 pick) 14. Chicago Bears- S Hashean Clinton Dix Alabama (a playmaking rangy athletic safety, those are in the demand in the NFC North) 15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Edge Player Anthony Barr UCLA (a pure upside pick fits a need as well, the only legit pass rusher the Steelers have on their roster is Jason Worilds, Jarvis Jones was incredibly underwhelming and was benched at times last year, Barr unlike Jones is the quick twitch athlete the Steelers are looking for) 16. Dallas Cowboys- QB Johnny Manziel Texas A&M (two words, Jerrah Jones) 17. Baltimore Ravens- OT Morgan Moses Virginia (the singing of Eugene Monroe solidifies the left side of their offensive line, they lost the underwhelming Michael Oher to the Titans in FA, Morgan is an immediate upgrade) 18. New York Jets- CB Justin Gilbert Oklahoma State (Dee Milliner came on strong last year, however after losing Antonio Cromartie and striking out on multiple corners in FA, Gilbert is just too talented and fills a glaring need) 19. Miami Dolphins- DT Timmy Jernigan Florida State (The Dolphins need to get younger on the interior of their defensive line) 20. Arizona Cardinals- QB Teddy Bridgewater Louisville (Once thought to be the sure fire #1 pick, it now looks like Bridgewater will fall into to latter part of the first round, lucky for Arizona. Bruce Arians employs a friendly QB system in Arizona, he'll get the most out of Bridgewater’s talents, Carson Palmer isn't getting any younger) 21. Green Bay Packers- S Deone Bucannon Washington State (One of the most underrated players in the draft, DB has a chance to be an all pro player at the next level, he's rangy, instinctive (15 career ints), and is the hardest hitting safety in this class, the Packers secondary just got a lot better. 22. Philadelphia Eagles- WR Brandin Cooks Oregon State (the Eagles get their Desean Jackson replacement in cooks, Brandin Cooks is absolutely electric, without the attitude and off the field issues of a Desean Jackson) 23. Kansas City Chiefs- TE Jace Amaro Texas Tech (The Chiefs could take a receiver or defensive lineman here, instead I gave them Amaro, a chains mover that does damage over the middle of the field, he's a safety blanked for the weak armed Alex Smith) 24. Cincinnati Bengals- OLB Ryan Shazier Ohio State (Arguably the most athletic player in this draft, RS ran a 4.36 40 on a bad hammy, he's a 240 LB specimen that happens to be an outstanding playmaker, both in coverage and as a pass rusher, this makes too much sense for the Bengals) 25. San Diego Chargers- CB Kyle Fuller Virginia (The Chargers had one of the worst CB tandems in football last year, Fuller is a complete corner that has a chance to be one of the best in the NFL in 2-3 years) 26. Cleveland Browns- QB Derek Carr Fresno State (The Browns reportedly "love" Derek Carr, if that's accurate he'll be their pick at 26, a strong armed smart QB, Carr has a chance to be very good at the next level, if he's able to overcome his erratic play in the pocket once things break down) 27. New Orleans Saints- WR Cody Latimer Indiana (I watch a lot of big 10 football, and can tell you Latimer is one of the best players in the country, he's a big receiver that combines smooth route running with insane athletic ability, it just so happens that the Saints need a receiver with Marques Colston and Kenny Stills as the projected starters, Latimer will be a beast in the NFL) 28. Carolina Panthers- OT Cyrus Kouandjio Alabama (What's worse than the Carolina Panthers receiving core? Their offensive line, CK was inconsistent at times this year and has medical concerns, but he's simply too talented to pass up) 29. New England Patriots- Edge player Dee Ford Auburn (Chandler Jones is their only pass rusher, Dee Ford gives them an athletic presence off the edge) 30. San Francisco 49ers- CB Bradley Roby Ohio State (one of the few weaknesses of this team, they could also go receiver here, but this class is incredibly deep at WR, Roby had a down year, but flashed #1 CB ability last year, if he can be consistent, he offers shutdown CB ability) 31. Denver Broncos- ILB CJ Mosley Alabama (the rich get richer) 32. Seattle Seahawks- WR Marquise Lee USC (see CJ Mosley) 33. Houston Texans- QB Tom Savage Pittsburgh ( a late riser in this draft, Savage is a strong armed QB with ideal size, but was inconsistent at Pitt, to is credit, his supporting cast particular the offensive line was awful, he's the king of QB Bill O'Brien is looking for) 34. Washington Redskins- CB Jason Verrett TCU (if he were 2 inches taller he'd be a top 15 pick) 35. Cleveland Browns- WR Allen Robinson Penn State (has been compared to Josh Gordon, this is a match made in heaven for Cleveland) 36. Oakland Raiders- DL Rashede Hageman Minnesota (too much upside to pass on at this point in the draft) 37. Atlanta Falcons- Edge player Jeremiah Attaochu Georgia Tech (the Falcons fill one need with an OT in the first round, and get a dynamic pass rushing threat in JA in the second, he plays in their backyard so they should have plenty of information on him) 38. Tampa Bay- WR Donte Moncrief Ole Miss (Moncrief will be a better in the pros than what he was in college) 39. Jacksonville Jaguars- OG Xavier Su'a-Filo (I'm usually a believer of waiting later in the draft to grab a guard, his athleticism and strength are perfect for the Jaguars ZBS) 40. Minnesota Vikings- QB Zach Mettenberger LSU (Norv Turner gets a QB that can stretch the field vertically, it's a perfect fit for that offense) 41. Buffalo Bills- S Calvin Pryor Louisville (the replace Byrd with another playmaking safety) 42. Tennessee Titans- RB Jeremy Hill LSU (Dexter McCluster and Shonn Greene are the RB's on this roster, enough said) We show less advertisements to registered users.
