We had the occasion to sit and have a drink with him one night and enjoyed hearing a few stories, anecdotes and pearls of wisdom about the music business.  I'll never forget the night he entered the room from the door behind my performing position  - he snuck up behind me and goosed me in the ribs!  Imagine my surprise when I turned expecting a hotel staffer or close friend and locked eyes with McCartney! 

 

Very cool. I forget who it was, but I remember someone who met Paul McCartney saying that he is very gracious and patient, and that he understands, without arrogance, that for many people meeting him is a high point of their lives, and he makes sure it is a moment they will remember fondly. Not every celebrity gets that.
