I think to be fair, he/they say they aren't important for the reason Mayock mentioned in the OP's quote. Because everybody does good at them. You're asking a quarterback whose about to be paid millions to throw a football, to throw a football with no pressure or defenses. It should be the definition of 'boring/unimportant'.

 

It's like asking Lebron James to go do a few dunks at practice with nobody guarding him. It doesn't mean anything. Unless of course Lebron dinks, donks, and misses basically every dunk. Then you wonder if somethings wrong.
