12 TDs, 21 INTs, 4 fumbles, 55.8 completion %, 6.88 YPA, 66.5 QB rating. Those are not numbers I'm expecting out of a top 2 pick.

 

A mediocre 5 game stretch against Miami x2, Cleveland, Oakland, and Carolina, to end the season, does not change that.

 

It's Gabbert-itis.  Most people want to see a QB that's not Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne.  It's the same reason people want Garoppolo in the second, and the same reason people wanted Matt Scott in the 4th. (He was available as an undrafted Free Agent)

 

Aside from Blaine Gabbert, this team has not used a draft pick on a QB since 2003.  In 10 years the team had selected only Gabbert in the draft as far as QB's go.  Not even a flier on a 4th rounder.  

 

I'd still say Geno Smith should be given another year before he's judged.  Perhaps you would be more likely to if he were a Jaguar, but not if he's a Jet.
