Keep in mind, none of the starters from last year's opening day will be the same.

 

Joeckel is moving to LT, and has less than half a year's experience.

 

Pasztor was on the bench to start the year last year, now he is at RT.

 

Beadles is brand new at LG.

 

We have no idea who will play C and RG, and the odds are decent that both starters in those positions will be rookies.

 

Absolutely, the OL is a legitimate concern and will probably be a source of heartburn at times throughout the season.  Still, the interior of our line hasn't been all that great for the last couple of years anyway.  Meester as experienced as he was, probably played a year or two past his ideal retirement age.  On the optimistic side, Pasztor was playing pretty well after being moved out to RT, Joeckel looked good at LT before the injury, and the front office feels that Beadles brings the "right stuff".  It will take them a while to gel for sure.  If the OL was solid, I'd probably go from picking 7 or 8 wins to picking them to make a playoff push.
