Might depend on what the trade was.

If it was to move down a few places and get extra picks in round four, for instance then I'd agree with you.

If it was to get an extra second round pick and still get a top ten player, then I think I'd be trading down.

The worry is going to be that we give up the chance of picking a game changer like Watkins just to get a couple of extra average players. We're not going to get our pick in the top three every year (at least I hope not!) so this could be our chance to add real quality to the team.
