Yes this could be a smokescreen, and yes the Lions could be asking for a bargain by trying to trade up with us, but this is right up our alley if it's true. The Lions could potentially be trying to do what the Falcsons did when they traded up for Julio Jones and pairing talent like Watkins with Megatron. I think Mayock said we would have to get the Lions 10th overall this year, 2nd round pick this year, and the Lions 1st rounder next year for a trade like this to be fair..

The Lions have 8 picks.  They have enough ammo to move up to 3, even if the deal did not include a 1 next year.

 

Buffalo, thought to be another team interested in Watkins, has 6 picks.  They have superior draft position in the and second rounds, but they don't have as many picks this year.

 

It'll be interesting to see, if both are interested in dealing up for Watkins, how much each would be willing to give up to move to three.
