Whats so hard for you to understand?? I ADMIT I thought Teddy was who they were going to use the #1 pick on, I was WRONG there. 

 

The idea to tank though was and IS always to get the #1 pick so you have ALL the options. Teddy could have been hit by a bus and died before the draft, then what??? They'd still have the #1 pick overall to use for the next best available. or trade. 

 

As it turned out, Teddy was NOT who they used their #1 pick on. But it STILL was smart to tank for the 1st overall pick. 

 

Thats the point.
