Rate the 2014 Jaguars draft
|
I really liked the top 3 picks, but there were two other picks in particular that intrigued me.
First was Colvin, the CB, who could have been a late first or early second round pick, at least according to Mike Mayock, until be tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl. But with medical technology as it stands today, he should make a complete recovery, and as soon as he does, we will have drafted a starting quality corner in the 4th round. The second pick that intrigued me was Telvin Smith. We have never had any speed at linebacker, and he should be a guy who can play LB in the nickle package and cover the TE. He's light to be sure, at around 220, but Gus has said he likes speed in his linebackers, and in my 20 years of watching the Jaguars, it seems like we've never been able to cover a TE with a linebacker. |
