The essential "Winning Triangle"

My thoughts:

Bradley - I like his personality which may be valuable in signing free agents and keeping our good players down the road.  However, I agree that the x's and o's side is still to be determined.  Although I know he had a lack of talent, it is hard to give too much praise to a head coach that went 4-12.  Let's see how he does with more talent.

Caldwell - I was critical of his lack of signing of free agents last season.  I still don't know what his strategy was.  If he seriously thought that he was doing everything he could to significantly upgrade the team in 2013, then he failed.  If his strategy was to suck in 2013 so that we could get a high draft pick in 2014 and take his quarterback for the future, then he succeeded.  I liked his first draft and loved his second. He blended need with value.  That's what great gm's do.  He even went after players through trade where it made sense.  Caldwell's stock has never been higher in my eyes.  Of course, the success or failure of Bortles will be huge in determining his future.

Khan - I didn't like that he chose to extend Gene Smith when he first came.  I was a huge advocate of firing him.  That being said, I give him a little bit of pass given that he was new.  I think he didn't feel that he had time to conduct a proper general manager search, so he relied on Wayne Weaver's endorsement.  (That's probably Weaver's biggest failure.)  I like that Khan was qucklly able to identify his mistake and correct it the following year.  I do like that Khan seems committed to the long term future and not short term success.  Khan's future will ultimately be determined by whether he keeps the team in Jacksonville.  I would have liked a new owner with strong ties to Jacksonville.  Khan has none.  I think the stadium lease is very favorable to Jacksonville, but you never know.  Please, Khan, keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville!!!
