Since the departure of Jimmy Smith, Cecil Shorts is the only WR to come close to reaching 1000 yards in a season.  Our offense has been pretty 'meh' for the most part since Fred Taylor's final year here.  Aside from Justin Blackmon, since 2005 and Matt "Coca'Cola" Jones the team has not spent a single 1st or 2nd rounder on a WR.  The most was a 3rd in 2007 -- and that's a lone instance itself. 

 

This year, we drafted not one, but two WR's in the second round.  That is a major talent infusion that this team has not seen since the Coughlin era.  Even if it doesn't pan out (I think it will) -- you can see Caldwell's plan to infuse this team with the offensive talent that it needs to look like an NFL Offense again. It's something this team has long needed.  Something more than signing Laurent Robinson or Jerry Porter.
