Should Johnny have been studying some playbook in the green room? Did Blake go to church before his presser? I though we were done with the Gene Smith Good Guy seal of approval.

 

I hope Manziel is successful. The NFL needs personalities. This is an entertainment business by the way. Johnny Football is good for the league, just as Joe Namath and others are. It won't bother me if he makes it. As long as he doesn't play particularly well against the Jaguars.

 

I hope (a lot) that Bortles is the real deal, but it looks like he may be pretty boring in the media sense. I'll take it.

 

Not expecting him to be studying a playbook a few hours after being drafted, but preparing to fly to Cleveland the next day, and not celebrating like you were the top pick in the draft isn't a lot to ask.  You'd have thought he found a little bit of humility after being made to sweat it out all the way to 22. 

 

I didn't find Bortles to be boring.  I just get the sense when he's in front of a camera that he's a guy who recognizes his situation, and is humbled by the opportunity.  Meanwhile, Johnny Manziel, who supposedly is trying to distance himself from the "Johnny Football" frat boy image walked on stage doing the money signs, and partied it up after getting drafted.  I know which guy I'll take.
