If you are talking about me, I"ve never really been much of a fan, that said, I freely admit he's been better than I assumed he'd turn out to be. 

 

That said, I am not sure he's in their long term plans. His contract is expiring at the end of this season and I could very well see him moved prior to final cuts, if anything - to get themselves a 3rd, or 4th rounder in the 2015 draft to start that process of building the stockpile, much like they did with the Monroe deal. 

 

Think about the numbers. 

 

Robinson, Lee, Shorts, Sanders, Brown, Doss, Blackmon?, Copeland?...

 

If Copeland shows anything at all in this exhibition, I could easily see Caldwell move Shorts prior to final cuts. 

 

Shorts is a prior regime guy, and not a player that I believe Caldwell sees as "must keep". 

 

If an opportunity arises to get a draft pick for him prior to setting the final 53, I see the possibility. 

 

I also think Doss is going to pleasantly surprise.
